The mission of the Arkansas Occupational Therapy Association is to serve our members and promote the practice of occupational therapy in Arkansas. We strive to improve recognition of the benefits occupational therapy can offer our community and we support our members through opportunities for education, leadership development, and professional networking. Through strategic engagement and collaboration, we promote client-centered, occupation-based practice to strengthen each individual’s professional identity and the profession of occupational therapy as a whole.
To fulfill this mission, AROTA seeks to:
- Further the practice of occupational therapy through research and education.
- Provide leadership for growth of the profession of occupational therapy.
- Ensure the highest ethical standards for occupational therapy practice.
- Foster professional identity of the membership to impact legislative, reimbursement, and consumer issues.
- Preserve the functional foundation of occupational therapy.
- Engage in intra and interprofessional collaboration in order to facilitate the most holistic approach to client-centered care
