The Arkansas Occupational Therapy Association (AROTA) is a non-profit professional organization established for further developing the growth of professional occupational therapists, certified occupational therapy assistants and students enrolled in the occupational therapy educational programs. The executive board is comprised of dedicated professionals who volunteer their time and knowledge  to address the many changes and challenges which face our licensed therapists and certified therapy assistants in the occupational therapy profession in regards to reimbursement, licensure issues and educational growth.

The mission of the Arkansas Occupational Therapy Association is to achieve excellence in healthcare by promoting quality occupational therapy services, enhancing professional identity and providing membership services.  The goal of the executive board is to serve its membership by putting into practice new ways to improve communication among members on all occupational therapy issues and increase the stability of the organization in order to support the mission of the association.

The membership of the Arkansas Occupational Therapy Association is comprised of licensed therapists, retired therapists, certified assistants, retired certified assistants and students enrolled in occupational therapy educational programs in Conway and El Dorado.  The growth of our organization depends on the support of its members to help maintain the voice of occupational therapy within our state in regards to legislative issues.  With membership into the Arkansas Occupational Therapy Association, people in our profession have a stable and uniform voice to promote quality occupational therapy services to consumers in our community.  The organization requires continued support of its membership to employ a full-time lobbyist to review and monitor legislations that directly affects the practice of occupational therapy within The Natural State, the ability to update the online Newsjournal and to provide and sponsor nationally recognized continuing education courses.

As President Theodore Roosevelt once said, “Every man owes part of his time and money to the business or industry in which he is engaged.  No man has the moral right to withhold his support from an organization that is striving to improve conditions within his sphere.”

Membership benefits include but are not limited to:

  • Access to online Quarterly News Journal

  • Discounts to nationally in-state sponsored continuing education courses

  • Annual Membership Directory in order to allow professional networking opportunities
